Story of Fat Bass

Fat Bass was built by two Ozarks anglers who grew up fishing the same waters everyone around here knows by heart. From early mornings on local lakes to weekends chasing weigh-ins, we’ve spent years fishing and supporting bass tournaments across the Ozarks.

We weren’t outsiders looking in. We were the guys backing down the ramp, standing in line at weigh-in, talking patterns, and watching the same familiar names show up month after month.

Over time, one thing became obvious: there was no simple way to keep the competition going between tournaments.

So Fat Bass was created to fix that.

The idea was straightforward-build a platform that rewards anglers for fishing the tournaments they already love, while creating a month-long challenge that spans the entire Ozarks. Fish your local circuit. Submit your catch. Stack it against other anglers fishing different lakes, different trails, and different conditions.

It’s not about replacing tournaments. It’s about amplifying them.

Fat Bass encourages anglers to fish more local events, support tournament directors, talk a little trash, compare catches, and keep the competition alive every single month. Whether you’re fishing a small local trail or a well-known circuit, every sanctioned tournament becomes part of a bigger picture.

At the end of the day, Fat Bass is about:

  • More competition across the Ozarks

  • More reasons to fish local tournaments

  • More fun, more bragging rights, and more prizes

Built by Ozarks anglers. For Ozarks anglers. One fat bass at a time.

Pierce Randolph

Pierce brings more than a decade of experience in competitive bass fishing. He started as a high school angler with the Hillcrest Bass Fishing Club in Springfield Missouri, and has since competed across a variety of local trails throughout the Ozarks.

Before launching the financial planning practice he operates today, Pierce spent years involved in the national fishing industry through tournament participation and lure manufacturing, gaining a strong understanding of both anglers and tournament operations.

Over the past three years, the Fat Bass Challenge has been developed with a focus on what anglers actually want; simple rules, fair competition, and more of the entry fees going back into payouts.

Pierce is glad to be back in the middle of the action and looks forward to reconnecting with local anglers and promoting local circuits.
